Celebrating Pakistan Resolution Day 2023

The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur celebrated 23rd March, the Pakistan Resolution Day, with remarkable ardor with a view to cherishing our collective legacy and enabling its students to appreciate the history and culture of Pakistan.

The Worthy Vice Chancellor BNBWU, Prof. Dr. Tehmina Mangan graced the occasion with her presence. While addressing the audience, she provided the insightful account of the Pakistan Day and its importance – then and today. She added that the day marked the successful culmination of the struggle of the Muslims of South Asia for a homeland of their own to realize something greater than just a piece of land. It is a day to reaffirm our commitment to ideals visualized in the Lahore Resolution. Furthermore, she lauded the students for showcasing their skills in speech competition, as the latter allows them to polish their public speaking skills and build confidence.

There was plenty of talent on show ranging from numerous action-packed performances by the students to a heated segment on inter-university & college speech competition, featuring multilingual and diverse-themed speeches to anthems and milli naghmas. There was a dazzling display of patriotism and love for the homeland on the part of the students of the BNBWU and the Lab School students. They enlivened the audience by putting on breathtaking performances.

The students delivered speeches on the theme of: “Jinnahโ€™s Struggle, Iqbalโ€™s Dream & Todayโ€™s Pakistanโ€. For the purpose of fair assessment and judgment, the competition was emceed by a jury of experts from Government Islamia College Sukkur: Mr. Tarique Hayat, an Assistant Professor (English) & Mr. Muhammad Irfan Rajput, an Assistant Professor (Urdu).

As many as seven universities & colleges participated in the competition. The participants were from the Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur: Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design & Heritage Sindh, Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Campus Khairpur, IBA Community College Khairpur, Pak-Turk Maarif College Khairpur & Government Girls Higher Secondary School Khairpur.

The students from the IBA Community College Khairpur won the show by snatching positions in both the categories of speech competition, while SALU Khairpur & GGHSS Khairpur were the runners-up. At the end of the program, the winners of the speech competition received the cash prizes and shields. Meanwhile, the guests were presented with souvenirs as a memento for their valued presence and participation in the event.
