Aligned with the vision of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj to promote excellence and quality education through equitable financial support, the Financial Aid Office of The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU), Sukkur convened a meeting of the Need-Cum-Merit Scholarship Committee as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the scholarship distribution process in collaboration with the Zakat and Ushr Department.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Mir Arif Hussain Talpur, Assistant Professor, Department of Human and Rehabilitation Sciences. External members included Mr. Shabir Ahmed Memon, Assistant Director, Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, Sukkur Division, and Mr. Yasir Ghulam Yaseen, representative of the Zakat Council.
The committee deliberated on key aspects such as the scrutiny process, transparent distribution of scholarship funds, maintenance of proper financial records, and the establishment of effective monitoring mechanisms under the supervision of the Zakat and Ushr Department.
Regular meetings of such committees hold significant importance in realizing BNBWUโs mission of empowering women through education and financial inclusion. The participants appreciated the proactive role of the Financial Aid Office and the continued collaboration with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal and the Zakat Council for ensuring transparent and merit-based scholarship disbursement.
