Her Excellency, the First Lady of Pakistan, Ms. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, in the presence of the Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, conferred the Aurat Foundation Award upon Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor, The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur (BNBWU), and her team of students and researchers proudly recognising their exemplary leadership, innovation, and the Universityโs AI Drone initiative, which is currently undergoing further enhancements under BNBWUโs ๐๐๐ฑ๐ญ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ ๐ซ๐จ-๐๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ Development Initiative to support upscaling and improved efficiency.
The recognition also acknowledges Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj (Vice Chancellor, BNBWU Sukkur) for her work, integrity, and dedication, highlighting unwavering commitment, exemplary leadership, and invaluable contributions described as creating a meaningful and lasting impact on society and serving as an inspiration to many.
Initially, basics of AI Drone was developed by BNBWUโs research team under the supervision of Dr. Imtiaz Birohi (PI of the project) with funding support from Sindh Higher Education Commission. The AI Drone is now undergoing expansion and modification under BNBWUโs ๐๐๐ฑ๐ญ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ ๐ซ๐จ-๐๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ Development Initiative to further improve and scale the system, enhance cost-effectiveness, and make it accessible for small farmers, particularly in Sindh, where most farmers operate on small, fragmented landholdings.
The ceremony brought together distinguished guests, scholars, consul generals based in Karachi, businesspersons, philanthropists, professionals, and members of media and civil society to celebrate excellence, service, and commitment to the public good.
