Russell Stannard
Biography
Russell Stannard is a multi-award-winning Educational Technologist and founder of www.teachertrainingvideos.com. He received awards from the British Council ELTONS, the Times Higher, and the University of Westminster for his work in the use of ICT in education. He is especially known for his work in using technology to enhance feedback, teaching online, and blended/flipped learning. Russell was previously a Principal Educational Technologist at the University of Warwick and the University of Westminster. He currently works as a consultant on educational technology at Kings College University London and as an associate trainer at NILE. where he teaches on the MA program and runs courses in blended/flipped learning. He has more than 60,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. He has presented in 56 countries around the world.
Abstract
Key tools are impacting on teaching and learning
A key part of assessment is the feedback we provide to students. In this talk, I will talk about some of the recent innovations in providing effective feedback to students using simple and free technologies that any teacher can use. The talk will focus on audio feedback, video feedback as well as a number of effective techniques that can make feedback more engaging, easier to follow, and far more effective. Pulling on some of the latest research, Russell Stannard will highlight a new direction that feedback could take in our teaching and learning..
