Abstract
ON VIRTUAL ASSESSMENT TOOLS, CHALLENGES AND WAY FORWARD: LESSONS FROM THE NATIONAL FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2020 AT NAHE
The COVID-19 pandemic forced face to face programs into completely virtual online programs in many educational institutions. The National Academy of Higher education, HEC, Islamabad was no different where a completely in-person four week program for freshly qualified PhDs had to be transformed into a virtual one at two weeks’ notice. This shift entailed a huge paradigm shift in all aspects and approaches including assessment tools and methods. This paper will reflect upon some of the experiences and lessons learnt and propose ideas for the way forward in our higher education.
