Introduction

The Department of Natural Sciences offers two four-year undergraduate programs: BS Mathematics and BS Physics. Our highly qualified and motivated faculty is dedicated to providing quality education and an enriching learning experience for our students. The department’s pedagogical approach is closely aligned with its vision and mission, combining classroom teaching with hands-on learning through experimentation, simulations, and practical applications. This blended approach ensures that students gain a comprehensive understanding of scientific principles and their larger cultural and societal context.
To remain at the forefront of scientific education, we frequently update our curriculum to align with the Higher Education Commission’s (HEC) Undergraduate Education Policy (UGE) and international standards. Recently, we incorporated cutting-edge courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning into the BS Physics curriculum, recognizing their growing importance in physics research. This addition is particularly timely, as the 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded for advancements in AI and neural networks. These updates position our students to excel in modern physics research and contribute meaningfully to this evolving field.
The department is well-equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories for computing and applied physics, supporting practical learning. A wide range of HEC-recommended textbooks and reference materials are available for both lending and in-house reading, ensuring students have access to essential academic resources.
