Encouraging students to actively engage in community-based initiatives and gain practical, on-ground exposure beyond classrooms, Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor BNBWU, has consistently emphasized the importance of linking academic learning with societal impact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In continuation of this approach, a Hygiene Awareness Session and Volunteer Recruitment Drive was organized on 12 February 2026 at the Recreational Hall under the AICP initiative of UNODC.

The activity was conducted by students of the Department of Management Sciences and Technology (DMST) under the supervision of Dr. Noor Ahmed Brohi, Chairperson DMST, as part of their assigned community project focusing on real-life social challenges. The session addressed hygiene and sanitation issues in UC Wadi Patni, highlighting rural environmental challenges and the need for behavioral change and awareness.

Operating under the banner of Team โ€œThe Hustlers,โ€ students presented actionable strategies to promote sanitation awareness and initiated volunteer recruitment for upcoming field-level interventions. The initiative aimed to strengthen civic responsibility, leadership capacity, and community problem-solving skills among students.

The program aligns with the broader objectives of the UNODC AICP framework, and the guidance of Prof. Hussain Haider Shah, Senior Legal Consultant UNODC, further reinforces the academic-community linkage and youth engagement in constructive social development initiatives.

These activities enabled students to understand real-world entrepreneurial processes and develop critical business skills.

Under the dynamic leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur (BNBWU), proudly participated in the 7th CPA Asia Regional Conference / 2nd Joint CPA Asia & South-East Asia Regional Conference 2026, held at the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Karachi, from 3rd to 7th February 2026. The Universityโ€™s participation was facilitated through the gracious invitation of the Honourable Speaker, Sindh assembly, Syed Awais Qadir Shah.

BNBWU established a dedicated exhibition stall showcasing its flagship academic, research, and innovation-driven initiatives. A major attraction was the AI-enabled drone technology for precision pesticide spraying in date palm and banana plantations, reflecting the Universityโ€™s commitment to smart agriculture and environmental sustainability.

The University also presented four European Union-funded research projects, implemented in collaboration with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) on Maternal Malnutrition in Sindh. An AI and Machine Learning-based mobile application for early diagnosis of malnutrition, developed by BNBWU faculty and students, was prominently displayed, highlighting the institutionโ€™s growing strength in digital health and community-oriented research.

The BNBWU stall was visited by several distinguished dignitaries, including the Honorable Sindh Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Honorable Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah, and Provincial Home Minister Zia ul Hassan Lanjar, along with delegations from the National Assembly, Punjab Assembly, and Balochistan Assembly. During their visit, the Honourable Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah applauded the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj and appreciated BNBWUโ€™s contribution to research, innovation, and women empowerment. A special highlight was the visit of Ms. Farah Azeem Shah (MPA, Balochistan), who underwent live nutritional assessment through the AI-based application. She highly appreciated the innovative work of BNBWU faculty and students and commended its practical relevance in addressing maternal and child malnutrition.

The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur (BNBWU), observed Kashmir Day-5th February with deep patriotism and commitment to express unwavering support and solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor BNBWU, students, faculty members, and staff participated in various activities to highlight the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination. The observance aimed to raise awareness about the humanitarian challenges faced by Kashmiris and to reaffirm Pakistanโ€™s moral, political, and diplomatic support for their cause.

In continuation of the strong commitment of Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor BNBWU, to provide sports opportunities, promote physical well-being, and foster holistic personality development among students, The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur (BNBWU), through its Letโ€™s Play Studentsโ€™ Club & Society, organized the Intervarsity Sports Gala 2026 in collaboration with the Autaque, Go Green, and Environmental Protection Studentsโ€™ Clubs & Societies.

The Sports Gala witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of BNBWU, along with teams from IBA Sukkur and Aror University, reflecting a spirit of healthy competition, inter-university harmony, and sportsmanship.
