𝐁𝐍𝐁𝐖𝐔 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞
Under the dynamic leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur (BNBWU), proudly participated in the 7th CPA Asia Regional Conference / 2nd Joint CPA Asia & South-East Asia Regional Conference 2026, held at the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, Karachi, from 3rd to 7th February 2026. The University’s participation was facilitated through the gracious invitation of the Honourable Speaker, Sindh assembly, Syed Awais Qadir Shah.
BNBWU established a dedicated exhibition stall showcasing its flagship academic, research, and innovation-driven initiatives. A major attraction was the AI-enabled drone technology for precision pesticide spraying in date palm and banana plantations, reflecting the University’s commitment to smart agriculture and environmental sustainability.
The University also presented four European Union-funded research projects, implemented in collaboration with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) on Maternal Malnutrition in Sindh. An AI and Machine Learning-based mobile application for early diagnosis of malnutrition, developed by BNBWU faculty and students, was prominently displayed, highlighting the institution’s growing strength in digital health and community-oriented research.
The BNBWU stall was visited by several distinguished dignitaries, including the Honorable Sindh Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Honorable Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah, and Provincial Home Minister Zia ul Hassan Lanjar, along with delegations from the National Assembly, Punjab Assembly, and Balochistan Assembly. During their visit, the Honourable Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah applauded the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj and appreciated BNBWU’s contribution to research, innovation, and women empowerment. The Honorable Speaker Syed Awais Qadir Shah expressed his utter satisfaction over the University’s management and academic progress and highly commended the exhibition stall and the efforts of faculty and students.
A special highlight was the visit of Ms. Farah Azeem Shah (MPA, Balochistan), who underwent live nutritional assessment through the AI-based application. She highly appreciated the innovative work of BNBWU faculty and students and commended its practical relevance in addressing maternal and child malnutrition.
The exhibition also attracted prominent foreign delegates from Malaysia, including Dato’ Sri Amar D’raja Dr. Haji Mohd Amar Bin Abdullah, Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Sharkar Bin Haji Shamsudin, Lau Weng San, and Haji Khazan Bin Che Mat, as well as representatives from the Maldives and Sri Lanka. Community members and visitors from across Pakistan also showed keen interest in the University’s initiatives.
The visitors acknowledged BNBWU’s pioneering role in integrating research, technology, and social responsibility, particularly in underserved regions. The showcased projects were recognized as strong examples of universities contributing to national development and the Sustainable Development Goals.
BNBWU’s participation in this prestigious international forum reflects the University’s continued commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and societal impact. Through such platforms, BNBWU continues to strengthen its national and international standing and reaffirm its mission of empowering women, advancing knowledge, and serving society.
