It is to be a leading advocate of quality assurance and enhancement in higher education, recognized nationally and internationally for its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of academic and institutional excellence.

Mission

The mission of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, Sukkur, is to foster a culture of continuous improvement in academic and administrative processes. The QEC aims to ensure excellence in education, research, and service by implementing robust quality assurance mechanisms, promoting best practices, and enhancing stakeholder satisfaction through effective assessment and evaluation strategies.

Institutional Quality Circle (IQC)

In alignment with PSG-2023, the Institutional Quality Circle, chaired by the Vice Chancellor, is designed to be pivotal in fostering a culture of ongoing quality enhancement within the university’s academic and administrative operations. This committee will play a crucial role in ensuring that institutional practices are in accordance with HEC’s quality standards and strategic goals, there by promoting an environment of excellence that supports educational integrity and operational efficiency.

The following outlines the terms of reference (TOR) for the Institutional Quality Circle (IQC):

  1. To oversee all relevant external guidelines and requirements related to quality assurance, initiating and coordinating actions as necessary.
  2. To develop and continuously review the university’s Academic Policy and Quality Framework, which encompasses the systems, policies, and guidance aimed at assuring and enhancing the quality of the student learning experience while upholding academic standards, and to evaluate and manage the outcomes of these processes.
  3. To supervise the university’s strategy for ensuring the completeness, accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of information provided to applicants and students.
  4. To maintain operational oversight of academic and student-related policies and legislation, reviewing proposals for minor and operational legislative changes, and consulting with legal services as needed.
  5. To evaluate proposals regarding the addition, withdrawal, suspension, and exceptional amendment of academic programs. Typically, this will be conducted through chair’s action, with regular updates provided at subsequent committee meetings.

Self Assessment Report (SAR)

29 December 2024, Under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Tehmina Mangan, Vice Chancellor of BNBWU Sukkur, the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at BNBWU conducted a Self-Assessment visit for various academic programs that had completed two years of operation. With the approval of the competent authority, Mr. Muhammad Irfan Qasim, Additional Director QEC,
was invited as an external assessor to evaluate all programs undergoing assessment. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing academic quality through rigorous self evaluation and external validation, ensuring alignment with institutional and educational standards.
