The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur organized a huge event on “International Women’s Day” on 08-03-2023. A well-known Islamic Scholar Aalimah Rehana graced the event as a guest of honor. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tahmina Mangan, the faculty, and staff members joined the event.
At the special event, worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tahmina Mangan communicated with students and shared the historical aspects of International Women’s Day. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tahmina Mangan highlighted the aim of celebrating the day and said we must acknowledge the services of hardworking women. She encouraged the students to reflect on the areas where female is being restricted and neglected (such as gender discrimination, education, and decision-making), and work for women’s empowerment. While completing her talk she motivated the students to be an agent of positive change for society.
Speaking at the event, Aalimah Rehana highlighted the importance of women in Islam and lectured about their historical significance. She emphasized that a female is responsible for the nurturing, guidance, and reformation of the subsequent generations.
A walk was also organized to highlight the importance of International Day. At the end of the walk, balloons were aired symbolizing the hope and aspirations of women for a better future.
