Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Chief Minister of Sindh, led the signing ceremony of a Tripartite MoU between Tech Valley Pakistan (Google’s partner in Pakistan), the Information Science & Technology Department, Govt of Sindh (IS&TD), and Vice-Chancellors from ten public universities in Sindh. The event took place on 16th August 2024, at the Sindh Chief Minister House in Karachi.
Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor of The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU) Sukkur, represented her university and signed the MoU alongside nine other Vice Chancellors.
This MoU paves the way for distributing 1,000 Google Career Certificates across these universities, with 50 slots reserved for female students. BNBWU Sukkur secured 100 seats, ensuring specialized training opportunities for its students!
Key officials, including Chief Secretary Mr. Asif Haider Shah, Principal Secretary to the CM Mr. Agha Wasif, and Sindh Hec Chairman Prof. Dr. Tariq Rafi, joined the ceremony. Google Education Consultant Mr. Umar Farooq and Tech Valley CEO Mr. Haris Iqbal also emphasized the importance of digital skills in this groundbreaking partnership.
