BNBWU Sukkur in collaboration with Bhittai Social Watch & Advocacy (BSWA) supported by United States institutes of Peace (USIP) hosted a dialogue on “Women, Peace, and Security, Social Harmony, Democratic Culture, and Climate Change.” on November 6, 2024.
Executive Director BSWA Khadim Mirani delivered insightful opening remarks, setting the tone for a thought-provoking discussion. Academic consultant, BSWA Prof. Dr. Taj Lashari contributed his expertise, addressing the interplay between peace and democratic values and their role in fostering a harmonious society.
The dialogue was moderated by Dr. Ali Raza Lashari. Other prominent speakers included Ms. Safia Bano from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Shelter Sector in Sukkur, Dr. Noor Ahmed Brohi, Dr. Faheeda Soomro and Ms. Shafaq Shehzad from BNBWU Sukkur, each providing unique insights on topics ranging from gender and security to environmental impacts in the context of climate change.
In her presidential address, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts and academic contributions in addressing the pressing issues of today. She highlighted BNBWU’s commitment to empowering women and creating platforms that encourage meaningful dialogue on global challenges.
