Faculty Development Trip to Japan, organized under the “Going Global” initiative spearheaded by Vice Chancellor

Dr. Noor Ahmed Brohi, Assistant Professor at Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU), recently embarked on a faculty development trip to Japan, organized under the “Going Global” initiative spearheaded by Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, Vice Chancellor of BNBWU Sukkur. This visit was sponsored by @Japan’s Ministry of Education and hosted by the 福井大学 University of Fukui.

Over the course of the eight-day program, the BNBWU faculty engaged in a series of intensive workshops centered on lesson study, curriculum development, and project-based learning. In addition to these sessions, the faculty members toured several schools, gaining firsthand insights into the teaching and learning processes while interacting with school administrators and educators.

A significant aspect of the visit was their participation in a roundtable discussion with faculty members from the University of Fukui, Hiroshima University, ICU International Christian University, 津田塾大学 – Tsuda University, and Tokyo Women’s Christian University. The session also featured representatives from Active Communication International, the International Development Center of Japan, and JICA – Japan International Cooperation Agency. The discussion focused on a comparative analysis of the educational systems in Japan and Pakistan, examining potential areas for collaborative research in the future.

This visit not only provided valuable professional development for the faculty but also reinforced the academic partnership between BNBWU and prestigious Japanese educational institutions.
