OGDCL Delegation visited BNBWU Sukkur to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaborations

A distinguished delegation from Oil and Gas Development Company Limited-OGDCL, Pakistan’s leading taxpayer and the top corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributor, visited Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU) Sukkur. The delegation, led by Managing Director and CEO Mr. Ahmad Hayat Lak, included Executive Director (Production) Mr. Mumtaz Ali Soomro and General Manager (CSR) Mr. Sikandar Ali Shaikh. They were warmly welcomed by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj.

The delegation was given an extensive tour of the university’s state-of-the-art facilities, highlighting BNBWU’s academic excellence, research innovation, and commitment to empowering women through higher education. A detailed presentation showcased BNBWU’s role in catering to the higher education needs of female students across Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, and Azad Kashmir.

During discussions, Vice Chancellor Dr. Tehmina Nangraj and Mr. Ahmad Hayat Lak explored potential collaborations, particularly focusing on the financial needs of the university and scholarship opportunities. Given OGDCL’s reputation as Pakistan’s number one CSR-driven organization, the delegation was encouraged to support student scholarships, ensuring that talented female students can access quality education without financial constraints.

A key highlight of the visit was the discussion on the establishment of the OGDCL Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence Nexus (OCEAIN) at BNBWU. This proposed center aims to drive cutting-edge research, technological innovation, and AI-driven solutions, positioning BNBWU at the forefront of future-ready education and digital transformation.

The visit reinforced a shared commitment to enhancing educational opportunities, strengthening industry-academia partnerships, and equipping young women with the skills needed for an evolving technological landscape.
