International Conference on the Role of Women in Education, Leadership and Literature (ICRWELL-2025)

The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University (BNBWU), Sukkur, inaugurated the International Conference on the Role of Women in Education, Leadership and Literature (ICRWELL-2025) today with a vibrant opening ceremony attended by distinguished guests, scholars, and participants from various regions. This two-day event, organized under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj is designed to explore the transformative roles of women in shaping intellectual, social, and policy landscapes.

In total, over 250 research papers were submitted from across Pakistan and abroad, reflecting the academic community’s strong interest in the conference themes. Following a rigorous peer-review process, 160 high-quality papers were selected for presentation. Complementing these scholarly contributions, distinguished international speakers from seven (07) countries delivered thought-provoking talks on the dynamic and evolving role of women in education, leadership, and literature.

The ceremony was graced by three Guests of Honour: Prof. Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand, Vice Chancellor of Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design & Heritage, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yousuf Khushk, Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur, Mr. Fayaz Hussain Abbasi, Commissioner Sukkur Division. Each of the honoured guests commended BNBWU for its commitment to academic excellence and gender-inclusive scholarship. Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, in her opening remarks, highlighted the university’s role as a platform for empowered discourse and inclusive education.

The conference began with a compelling keynote by Dr. Imam Zamani from Iran, who reflected on women’s leadership within engineering education—a theme that echoed through several sessions of the day. The presentations were organized around key thematic strands that underscored the richness of the discourse.

The first thematic group focused on Women in Leadership and Policy. Dr. Besa Ismaili, Prof. Dr. Anjum Bano Kazimi, Dr. Imam Zamani shared their valuable insights and technical perspectives on the topic.

The second group of talks emphasized Women, Education, and Empowerment. Dr. Mohammad Hossein Nohehkhwan, Dr. Shamsa Aziz, and Dr. Yee Mei Heong added a global pedagogical view, discussing innovation, inclusion, and women’s influence in educational equity.

A third set of presentations examined Women and Knowledge in Society, with a focus on data, climate, and literature. Prof. Dr. Samina Khalil and Dr. Muhammad Ajmal discussed the role of women and knowledge in society.

The sessions were well-received by a diverse audience of scholars, students, and professionals. Thought-provoking discussions followed each talk, and participants engaged deeply with the themes presented. Tokens of appreciation were presented to all speakers, and the day also included opportunities for networking and collaboration among attendees.
