Under the visionary leadership of the worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, and in line with her vision to strengthen students through extracurricular engagement and the development of leadership skills, the studentsβ clubs and societies of The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, Sukkur, commemorated World Food Day in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Pakistan.
The celebration spanned the month of October and featured a series of vibrant activities including video messages, written scripts, poetry, and paintings, through which talented BNBians showcased their creativity and awareness on the global theme.
FAO Pakistanβs distinguished officials, including Dr. Julius Muchemi, Head of Province Sindh, graced the event and delivered an enlightening lecture highlighting the significance of food security and sustainable agricultural practices. Appreciating the efforts of BNBians, Dr. Muchemi remarked that βthe event at BNBWU is the best among all events held in the Sindh region.β He also presented an informative FAO documentary, enriching studentsβ understanding of global initiatives addressing hunger and food challenges.
Adding to the intellectual depth of the event, Ms. Armeen, a BS English student, delivered an insightful speech on βEnding Hunger is not Charity β itβs Justice,β emphasizing the moral and social responsibility towards eradicating hunger.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates among participating students and the exchange of mementos, marking yet another remarkable event reflecting the universityβs commitment to holistic student development, global awareness, and leadership cultivation under the dynamic guidance of Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj.
