7th Board of Faculty Meeting of FMIST, BNBWU held to Strengthen Academic Quality

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, places strong emphasis on strengthening academic governance and quality assurance mechanisms at The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur. In line with this vision, the 7th Meeting of the Board of Faculty (BoF) of the Faculty of Management, Information Science & Technology (FMIST) was convened on December 10, 2025, at BNBWU Sukkur to deliberate on key academic and curricular matters.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Shahzad Nasim, Dean FMIST, and formally commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. The Dean welcomed all esteemed members and external experts, and appreciated their continued support and guidance in strengthening the academic standards of the Faculty.

The Board benefited from the valuable insights of distinguished external members, including Prof Dr Irum Rani Shaikh, Professor, Department of Business Administration, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur; Prof. Dr. Waqar Ahmed, Professor, Department of Management Sciences, Iqra University – IU, Karachi; and Dr. Umm-e-Laila, Associate Professor, Institute of Business Management (IoBM), Karachi, who participated in the meeting online.

The internal members present in the meeting included Dr. Noor Ahmed Brohi, Chairperson, Department of Management Sciences & Technology; Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Zardari, Chairperson, Department of Information & Communication Technologies (online); Dr. Kaleemullah Abbasi, Assistant Professor; and Ms. Noor ul Ain, Lecturer, Faculty of Management, Information Science & Technology, BNBWU Sukkur.

During the proceedings, the Board reviewed and unanimously confirmed the minutes of the previous Board of Faculty meeting. Comprehensive deliberations were held on key academic agenda items with the aim of further enhancing curriculum quality, academic integrity, and holistic student development in accordance with national higher education standards.

A significant agenda item discussed and approved was the inclusion of Fehm-ul-Quran courses across all programs under FMIST, effective from Fall 2025. The Board acknowledged this initiative as a meaningful step towards embedding ethical values and moral understanding alongside modern professional education.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chair, recognizing the valuable contributions and active participation of all members and external experts.
