As part of the broader Faculty Development Initiative envisioned and spearheaded by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Tehmina Nangraj, The Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University Sukkur (BNBWU), organized on January 5, 2026 a Faculty Development Workshop titled โ๐๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ก๐๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐งโ in collaboration with the UNODC โ United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Syed Hussain Haider, Senior Legal Expert, UNODC, and Prof. Atif Rahim Khan, Consultant UNODC and Senior Faculty Member at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), Lahore University of Management Sciences-LUMS (LUMS). The facilitators emphasized the pivotal role of faculty members as agents of peace, focusing on the integration of peacebuilding and social cohesion into teaching, research, and community engagement.
The workshop was attended by all faculty members of BNBWU, along with the National Team of the UNODC Innovation and Creativity Program, representing all provinces and regions of Pakistan, including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad Capital Territory, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, reflecting the national scope and inclusive character of the initiative.
Interactive discussions enabled participants to explore practical strategies for embedding peace education within academic curricula and institutional practices. The workshop concluded with an exchange of insights and appreciation for the facilitators, reaffirming BNBWUโs commitment to faculty capacity building and sustained collaboration with national and international partners to promote peace and social cohesion through higher education.
