Biography
Her research interest is on biotechnology and molecular biology, mainly focussed on cell culturing technology, cloning and functional analysis of candidate genes responsible for traits and deseases in plants and animals. SNP mining by DNA sequencing and development of molecular genetic markers. Study of relative gene expression level under different stress conditions. She has ability to conduct responsible research under biosafety and ethical standards of science. And presented her work in various national and international conferences and workshops held in China and Pakistan. She loves to do volunteer work in academics and career counselling to young students.
Achievements and awards
1. Availed the research project entitled “Molecular Characterization through SSR markers in different rice (Oryza sativa L.) (ICCBS, University of Karachi) 2019-2021
2. Fully funded PhD scholarship from China Scholarship Council (CSC), China (2014-2018)
3. Availed the National Internship Program by Government of Pakistan for one year (2007-2008)
4. Secured second position in MSc Biotechnology, Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Pakistan (2006)
5. Member of American Society for Microbiology (ASM)
6. Member of International Wheat Genome Sequencing Consortium (IWGSC)
7. Member of TWAS-OWSD Third World Academy of Sciences- Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World) Pakistan Sciences Chapter. Member ID-9820
