Biography

Dr. Wasim Qazi is currently serving as the Vice Chancellor of Iqra University. He is the member of the syndicate of University of Karachi and a board member of National Institute of Child Health. He is also a Visiting Professor at Eastern Kentucky University, and an International Visiting Scholar at Australian Catholic University & Western Michigan University.
For more than two and half decades, Dr Qazi has been associated with Higher Education Institutions of national and international repute. He has served in various leadership roles at the leading universities of Pakistan where his visionary leadership has helped the institutions accomplish their strategic goals and successfully expand nationally and internationally.
Dr. Qazi excels in human resource management and his acumen for financial management of educational institutions has helped him establish two universities in the private sector in Pakistan. He believes in offering futuristic education to students through technology-enriched classrooms and by fostering an entrepreneurial culture at the universities.
Dr. Qazi has a strong interest in professional development and training of teachers. He has successfully implemented teacher training and school transformation programs for national and international organizations including World Bank, USAID, European Commission and Education Department of Sindh. Recently, he has established ‘Centre for Teaching Excellence & Learning Innovation’ at Iqra University which offers the first professional development diploma for university teachers in Pakistan.
Dr. Qazi is committed to developing a culture of research and innovation in Pakistani universities. Despite his administrative engagements, Dr. Qazi has been an active researcher throughout his career with more than 30 publications to his credit in leading national and international ISI and Scopus-indexed journals. He also serves as the Editor of Journal of Management Sciences (JMS) and Journal of Education and Social Sciences (JESS), and as the reviewer for prestigious international journals published by Elsevier and Springer.
